I first read The Secret in November last year after hearing multiple people mention it, so I thought I’d give it a go. I wasn’t in a particularly bad place, I was fine in my life plodding along.. But after reading it I realised I could do more than just plod along!
I have had many experiences with The Secret making a positive impact in my life since then – clear skin, improved body, an ex wanting me back, but this story will be about money….

My best friend and I had decided that we wanted to go travelling, this had only been a vague plan that we weren’t sure would happen but neither of us had any ties to staying home and wanted to get out of our small village so that was our dream. Our only concern was how will we afford it?

Well after reading The Secret I had no worries at all! I suddenly felt almost overwhelmed with all the excitement of how amazing my life could be – would be! The places I would go, how beautiful my body would be, the amazing friends I’d meet, and how everything would fall into place. I started making image boards online of how I wanted to look, feel and places I wanted to see. I was getting so excited!!

My friend and I decided on going to work in Spain for 2 months in June, before visiting Indonesia in September for a month and then going to Australia for a working holiday for up to a year.

So back in November, I decided I wanted £5k. Initially I wanted to test out the power of The Secret and receive it in 1 week, this didn’t happen but I think it’s because I still had some doubt that surely it couldn’t happen that quickly!? But I still kept £5k in my head and knew I’d get it eventually.

We both had jobs at home that we were trying to save every penny from, however the difference between my friend and I is that she wasn’t positive and kept on worrying she wouldn’t have enough money, I told her about The Secret but she thought it was a load of rubbish.. Well more fool her!

So in June we went to Spain to work with our plan being to top up our funds out there, at this point I had approx £2k, my friend had £1.5k. We had to come home early after one month for personal reasons, meaning we’d have 6 weeks at home before Bali and Oz. In order to have enough travelling money we’d need to work. My friend was desperate and applying everywhere worrying that her money was going fast on living expenses, I on the other hand barely even tried to look for work, I knew I’d be fine and something would sort itself out… I was right!

Just before leaving Portugal I got a text from my sister saying I had got a tax rebate through of £1020!

My boss at my old job text me after seeing I was home again asking if I’d like some work before going away again which would result in me being paid £900!

My parents had been trying to sell my granddads old flat for the last few months which finally went through and so they gave me and my sister £1000 each!

And on top of this I received AUS $250 for my birthday from family!

Plus a few babysitting jobs giving me an extra £70.

I go to Bali in 1 week’s time and in total before going travelling I now have about £5k. The amount I had wished for just after reading The Secret! My friend has less than half this amount and I honestly believe it’s because she hasn’t been believing she could get it.

I knew I needn’t have worried. I knew everything would work out 🙂
