My Wallet Was Never Lost!
Submitted by: Anonymous
CaliMarried with two children. Started my journey with The Secret 6 years ago and the miracles just keep coming.
First off, a hearty thank you to Rhonda Byrne and her team that put The Secret together and all the stories on this website. I have been a Christian for over 27 years and never understood the renewing of the mind until I was introduced to the Secret.
Now my recent story. I went to visit my son 5 hours away because we moved him to an apartment for college. While I was shopping for him and his roommates, being in a hurry, I had a hard time holding everything including my wallet. The excitement distracted me and I just wanted to get back to the apartment to show everyone what I bought. It was then that I realized I didn’t have my wallet in my purse. I panicked and drove back to the 99 cent store. I searched the whole parking lot but nothing. A young college student saw me flustered and offered to help me look. I went to the store and the bank that was nearby to leave my name and number if anyone turned it in.
When I returned to my son’s apartment, everyone was sad and told me just forget it, it will never be turned in and as far as any money, that’s gone too. These young students including my son were convinced that the whole world is dishonest and no one cares. I was so heartbroken because I spent over 20 years raising my children to believe in God and that good people exist everywhere. I know that there are many people like me that would do the right thing no matter what, even in a big city. My husband immediately began calling everywhere to have my visa cards and bank cards cancelled.
I had to leave the apartment to get my thoughts and behavior in check. I again used The Secret principles to handle this situation and prayed with heartfelt tears to be a good example and handle this situation correctly. I really believed that someone found my wallet and turned it in somewhere, even with the traveling cash I had. When I went back into the apartment and I requested that everyone not to talk about the wallet and all the dishonest people in the world as I didn’t want to ruin the visit. All the while inside I wanted to be sick and just cry!
Guess What!
On the way to lunch, my cell phone rang with a local number and it was the 99 cent store manager. He apologized that he didn’t call me right away when he put my wallet in the safe because he had to leave the store and didn’t see the note that I left until later. I drove back to the store and gave him a hug. And there it was, my wallet intact with all the money I had in it. I even tried to give him something as a reward but he wouldn’t take it. However, it was what he said that made me cry: “I just want you to know that there are still honest people out there that would do the right thing no matter what.”
That is what I left my son with and all his roommates when we left the next day to go home. Surely, this will inspire you too!
