The Ten Second Deal
Submitted by: Sharon R.
Boston, MAI'm a super busy person - middle aged, with three young children, working full time and starting to feel the press of needing to accomplish what I want to accomplish in life, and wondering how I can do that while in the midst of a daily frenzy.
I work in a sales environment, and a coworker gave me a copy of The Secret, which I read in a day.
As we were ending our quarter and were short of making our sales target, I looked at the white board where I track all of our quarterly sales. Reflecting on what I had learned in The Secret, I realized I hadn’t left enough space on the board for the deals we still needed to bring in across the last 3 days of the quarter.
I wiped the board clean, rewrote everything that had already come in, and left a third of the board white for what we still needed to close. TEN SECONDS after walking away from the board a coworker told me he had just closed a deal.
I’m certain we’ll fill the rest of the whiteboard before the end of the month – I can see it.
