I am not sure when it happened or why, but I asked the universe to bring me someone kind, gentle, and loving through the laws of attraction. I love my friends but I wanted to be in relationship that would take me to new places and not only help me grow as an individual but also also as a partner. I had several really long relationships but they all seemed to have one flaw; there was no love in the relationships!

I had been talking to this guy for over 14 years that I used to date back in high school for a short time. He and I would exchange our love life, what we had been doing with our lives and what we wanted to achieve in life. I never really put two and two together that what I had been asking for was right in front of me! He and I started to talk a lot in the early part of 2014 and I was so overjoyed to be sharing my life with a friend that was passionate about the same things I was!

I went on a trip to Santiago, Chile and while I was visiting, there was an earthquake up the northern coast. I didn’t really pay any mind to it since I wasn’t in danger. I continued to play with my friend’s dog when it hit me that people might be worried about me. I turned on my phone and the first message was from him. I instantly was overjoyed that he was reaching out to make sure I was ok. We talked for a short time and I assured him that I was ok and safe.

When I returned from Chile, we struck up our conversations again but now they seemed to change from a friendship tone to a loving relationship tone. We planned a weekend get away in our home state of Colorado where we visited some museums, walked, talked and laughed. I could tell I was falling for him, and him for me! Once I returned home from Washington, D.C. I kept positive that we could make this work but I didn’t even know what “this” was!

After a month he called me and told me that he could not imagine his life without me and I was over the moon! My wish had come true!

Two years later we are happily engaged and planning to move him to Washington, D.C. so that we can continue our journey and get married next year! I am over the moon with how well we fit and he brings my life so much joy!
