The book “The Secret” was given to me by my mother. I wasn’t really sure what to make of it at first, but I found that the more I used the teachings from the book the more good things started to happen to me.

I was attending a school in Milwaukee for carpentry. I was reading the book for the second time on the way home from school one day, and the words of Mr Beckwith kept ringing in my ears. I felt like I just had to meet him. I then closed my eyes and said to myself that I am going to him, and began to feel just as I would if I did. I imagined it and felt deep inside that I would meet him some day.

I got off the bus and entered the Wallgreens store on Wisconsin Ave. I needed change for a dollar. I noticed that there was a man standing behind me, and that he had a really nice suit on. I told myself that I would some day where a suit just like that. I then got to the front of the line and asked the counter person for change. She informed me that I had to buy something first to receive change, because the change only came out as a result of buying something. I didn’t have much money so I couldn’t buy anything. I told the counter person that it was ok and I could find change somewhere. The man behind me with the nice suit offered me four quarters. I said thank you and noticed he also had long hair like me, except he was a black man and had really cool braids. I left and went home.

After getting home my great aunt who also likes The Secret said to me, would you like to watch The Secret on DVD? I said that would be great, and we sat down to watch. To my surprise, after watching for a while there appeared the man named Beckwith, and behold it was the man from the store earlier that day. So in fact I did meet him, I just didn’t know it was him.

Since then I have had many good things happen to me, and I will continue to use the Secret for the rest of my life.
