I used the law of attraction before I read The Secret and got good results on many occasions, as well as bad results when I focused on the negative outcomes of my decisions. I received The Secret DVD about a year ago, watched it and became excited with the many tools that were presented there. I decided to try several of them, like the vision board, the writing exercise, gratitude, and visualization. I set a big goal in my mind and waited for results.

I must say that though I was dedicated to using the tools frequently, I did not see great changes but more small “gifts” that were wonderful reminders for me to keep practicing the methods and focusing. The main change in me was to be more relaxed about my life, which was a great thing to experience as I am a very stressful person. The other thing was, I started to be more successful in projects I took upon myself, which also generated a good feeling inside of me.

I felt that the biggest challenge I have is my relationship to money, as it was never enough no matter how much I earned. We always were discussing how much we don’t have, which stressed me out. As I am the main provider of my family (four people), I was very frustrated with this feeling. I started to develop a mantra in my mind and visualize that my earnings are increasing, though I did not apply for any additional job. After a few weeks of doing this I started to get offers from my University that increased my income. First, I received a nice raise. I then participated in a workshop that was paid for and added to our income. Also, I was nominated to lead a summer group that I was paid for, and even received a consulting job that paid nicely. It is amazing that the more I visualize my income going up and exceeding our expenses, new opportunities to earn money in an easy way opened up for me. I feel so blessed.

I am very grateful to all the teachers in The Secret for showing us these amazing tools. I watch the movie constantly and read the book over and over again as my “big” goal is still to be realized, and I don’t want to get distracted or lose my focus.

To people that practice the Secret tools, I would suggest not to give up no matter how long it takes, and pay attention to changes so they are encouraged to keep practicing. I sometimes forget to pay attention and I sometimes do not see the things that were on my vision board and were realized, because some time has passed by. When I realize that what I experienced was on my vision board it blows my mind away and keeps me motivated to keep using the LOA to my benefit.
