Running low on energy

Wichita Falls, TXHi everyone,
This past weekend my boyfriend and I went up to Turner Falls to camp. This park is about 2 hours away from our town. We took my car because it’s really great on gas. On Saturday night while we were cooking out we had our music playing for about 30 minutes or so. Well, we were going to go back down the hill to get some things from a little convenience store for our cookout, and my car did not start. Thank God for our camping neighbors that were right there, that helped us jump start our car! So we proceeded to go to the convenience store, but when we got back into the car once again it did not start. I was thinking positive thoughts the whole time, and a father that was camping out with his sons helped us jump start our car again. We drove it for a while, just enough time to keep our battery charged up. Before I went to bed I told myself, “There’s nothing to worry about, it’s all taken care of. My car is fine.”
The next morning around 10am we got up, ate breakfast, and packed up. We were just going to go into town and get our battery charged up since one of the sheriffs told us that the heat probably was the one that sucked our battery dry. So we stopped at a nearby O’Rileys that was just about 10 miles up in town. We had the AC on full blast and the music turned up. The sales associate came and checked our battery with this computer and told us that our battery was so low that he was amazed we even made it into town, especially with the AC on. When he checked the alternator he said it was out! And the car was running solely on the battery. He charged up the battery for us, told us to not have the AC or radio on, and turn off anything electric in the car. I drive a 2004 Aerio Suzuki – everything is electric, not to mention once you turn on the car the headlights turn on! I kept my cool and told myself there’s nothing wrong with my car – the computer has a bad reading. He also instructed us to stop in the next closest town and get our battery recharged. So we drove off with our windows down in 106 heat and no music.
We stopped at a local Wal-Mart and got our battery checked out. The sales associate told us that the battery was really great. So we proceeded to drive. All the way home I kept visualizing us getting home safely, going to the Auto mechanic, and him telling us that there was nothing wrong with my car.
My boyfriend’s Dad met us in a town and followed us home just to make sure we were alright. 2 hours later we were home safely without having to stop to recharge our battery. Later that evening we took my car to AutoZone and got it checked out again. WHAT DO YOU KNOW… the sales associate told us, “Your battery is fine, your voltage is above the normal which is really great, and your alternator is running just fine. You don’t need a new one, the other sales person just gave you a bad reading.” !!!!!!! WOW!!! I was really happy!!!
Even though I just started reading about The Secret last Monday (7-28-08) from this guy at work (it’s working for him), I can definitely say that it does work!! Even for the small things that you ask for!! Be careful what you ask for – I asked for a really great vacation weekend with my boyfriend full of memories… we sure did get that with the scare of my car!!
