From a young age, I listened to my grandmother’s traveling adventures. She was a big enthusiast of cruise liners and traveling. It became my dream to travel and work abroad.

Fresh out of college I started to research opportunities and received nothing. It didn’t stop me. I kept my dream. I listened to inspiring music and imagined my life as I wished it to be.

Eventually, the first opportunity came. Strangely after all the hard work, it came via a friend. There was an opportunity for me in a holiday resort in Greece. Many people told me it wasn’t a good idea but my mum supported me and told me she would get me home if I needed it at any time. It was fantastic. I explored and enjoyed every moment, Greece is truly amazing. I met my partner there and after the summer season ended we decided to work together somewhere during the winter season.

After much research, I decided that Andorra in the Pyrenees seemed like a good choice. We traveled with some friends to Barcelona and it was fantastic. I remember how exciting it was to be in this beautiful city. We traveled up to Arinsal, Andorra the next day. We all got jobs within the first few days. I spend a lot of time in this ski resort and summer mountain haven. I believe Arinsal taught me to love community living.

A few years past and I moved to South Spain. I didn’t belong there and felt sad. The good thing that came out of living there was my career change from hospitality to fitness. I found a new passion. My mum gave me some sound advice and I started to research fitness courses. It just so happened there was a fitness course available a few minutes away. It was completing this training that took me to my next journey.

I ended up leaving my current path and embarking on a new journey on a five-star cruise liner as a fitness professional. It was amazing! I traveled to Alaska, Canada, and the Caribbean, just to name a few. I taught indoor cycling classes in front of the glaciers where we watched penguins playing. This was in 2007.

Some friends told me about The Secret but it didn’t click at that time. After leaving my contract, I was visiting family and picked up a copy of ‘The Secret’ before embarking on a train journey. When I opened the book I felt my eyes open, the sun was on my face and I felt so happy that I choose this book instead of a magazine. I truly believed every word I read. I had achieved many dreams already but now The Secret showed me how this was possible and how to use it with intent.

I was back home in the UK but feeling restless for a new opportunity. It found me! I was offered an opportunity to work in a fitness facility in Qatar. I took it. I am still here. I met my gorgeous husband, have two beautiful children, work as a freelance fitness professional which was another dream, and I got the opportunity to travel to India and study Yoga. I enjoy life to the fullest. During the lockdown, I was lucky enough to embark on another dream. To complete my Pilates teacher training with a wonderful teacher online in South Africa.

I currently visualize living in our dream house on the beach in a beautiful community with a connected pilates studio and a car workshop for my husband. My next book to read will be “The Greatest Secret”.
