Hi Friends,
My first LOA experience was at the age of 10 when I was in class 5th. Our school had an afternoon shift till class 5th and from 6th onwards, we were moved to morning shift. So, during 5th September, on Teacher’s Day, the students of 5th standard would become teachers and dress up nicely, take classes, sit in the staff room of teachers etc. This was a dream of every student in 5th standard and I was excited.
Since there were around 60 students only 20 were supposed to be selected for teachers and unfortunately, I was not in the list. I felt very bad, cried a lot, reached home in the evening and told my mother about it. She also got very upset as she knew how excited I was about Teacher’s Day. The selection was announced on 1st Sept and 4 days were given for the preparations. I kept saying this prayer ” jo mange thakur apne se sohi sohi deve” which means: whatever you ask God you get exactly the same till late night.
The very next day, I reached school and our class teacher asked after recess if I want to become teacher, as one of the students had got sick and would not be coming to school for the next week. I jumped with excitement and agreed .
I reached home, told my mother about it, and my mother took me to buy a new suit which was of pink and white color, which was my favorite. Next day when I was playing with my friends while waiting for the school bus, I fell and sprained my right foot and I could not walk. My mother took me back home from the bus stand and told me that I think this Teacher’s Day is not meant for you, but I kept telling myself that I would be alright and started my prayer again to God.
And trust me, It healed 90% within 1 and 1/2 days and I went to school with my new suit to attend the Teacher’s Day 🙂
Thank you, thank you, thank you Rhonda and team for sharing your books with us so that we can change our lives.
