I am firmly convinced that gratitude is the key to happiness and I am so glad that it is the secret in my life.
Hello to everyone.
I always read your stories on this Secret website with enthusiasm. Thank you, thank you, thank you! Today I would like to share my story with you. I am from Germany and my family and I took a road trip through Ireland and England this summer vacation. I visited Ireland for the first time when I was 14 and I haven’t let go of this beautiful country ever since. I love the landscape, and the friendliness of the people, and my favorite boyband Westlife, also comes from Ireland.
On our road trip through Ireland, we also spent a few days in Sligo, Westlife’s hometown. We spent the afternoon on the beach with delicious ice cream and watching the surfers in the water. After the ice cream, I went to the toilet to wash my hands. When I returned, my two children rushed up to me and told me that they had just seen Kian, a member of Westlife, and his wife drive past in the car. If only you hadn’t gone to the toilet. They rubbed this in my face over and over again throughout the day. I have to say, I was a little sad that I didn’t see him. Then I said to myself, something better will come along. We ended the evening by the sea with a beautiful sunset and as I stood there on the mountain and the sun’s rays shone on me, I had such an incredible feeling of gratitude to be here and listened to the Westlife song “Starlight”.
A day later we wanted to go into town again and a Westlife song was playing on the radio. I said loudly to the others that I was in the right place. On the way into town, I noticed a sign with the quote: “Sligo – Sets your Spirit free” and took a photo of it because I thought it was beautiful. When we arrived in town, it occurred to me that I really wanted to go to the one store because it was already closed at the time of the lecture. My husband said it looked bad as there was no parking. I said we should go in there and we would find a parking space and we turned into the street. My husband stopped briefly to let a pedestrian cross the street and at that exact moment, I raised my head and screamed, “Oh my God, that’s Shane from Westlife!” The singer of the band. I jumped out of the car into the bookstore opposite where Shane had gone. Suddenly I stood behind him and said, “Hi Shane. He turned around, shook my hand, we talked, and then took photos. It was such an incredibly beautiful and magical experience. I am so happy and grateful for that. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
I am firmly convinced that gratitude is the key to happiness and I am so glad that it is the secret in my life.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
