Back in 2014 I had the opportunity to travel to the USA for 3 weeks on an exchange program. I loved it so much that I said to myself that I had to get back there again. I thought I wanted to go back to study to in the USA and applied for a prestigious fellowship. I was awarded the fellowship but a sense of panic, fear and negativity came over me and I knew that had to stay home. And so, I turned down the fellowship. This was in 2016. Nevertheless, I felt I would still have the chance to go back there again.

I really wanted to visit the Smithsonian and other important museums in the USA. I saw pictures of American cities on TV and they all felt so real to me, just like I was there, I just couldn’t explain that to myself. Then it was 2017 and I found out I was selected by the embassy to participate in a program on museums!!!! I was mindblown and so excited to go back there!!!! I had the chance to see the Smithsonian, MoMa, Guggenheim, Getty Museum, etc. I also got the bonus of seeing a play on Broadway!!!! Being there it all felt so natural, detached and normal. Now, I just know that I’ll have the chance to visit the USA again, even if I don’t know how or when.
