I won’t go into the many ways I have used the Secret so far, but here’s what I did my first couple weeks.

First, I was at a dead end job that I hated. I was reading The Secret on my lunch break and was asking for a new “perfect career”. Next thing you know I was laid off. Ok, now I was struggling again. This being about the 7th time being laid off, it was hard not to cry. But I truly believed there was something in store.

I was broke, falling behind on my bills, and desperate for cash. So I asked for a check in the mail. Ok, it didn’t come in the mail, but I went to a friends house to feed her cat and she left me a generous check that day. Then, I asked for $2,000 dollars in 30 days. With horrible credit, in 2 days I received a loan for $2200! I AM NOT KIDDING YOU! I went to pay my car payment and the lady asked me if I wanted to try and apply for a loan. It worked!

I kept thinking… “I have the perfect job in advertising and I love the people I work with.” I was one day away from starting a waitressing job, and that night I went to bed thinking. No. This isn’t what I wanted. I will get something better tomorrow. The next day I got a call for an advertising job in my field, with people that make me laugh. Very nice.

So I tried it again today. I woke up remembering how the Secret worked before. I thought… Money is coming to me today. It will. I drove home and thought, “It’s in my mailbox.” My IRS refund showed up in the mail today. This is no coincidence (or a very rare one) – I have not received a check in the mail in at least 3 months, and the first day I try the Secret again I got a check.

Some people say The Secret is nothing new. They say it’s positive thinking. I think it’s much more. It’s positive thinking, positive stories of inspiration, and tools. Just like losing weight, quitting smoking, or repairing your credit, the right tools can do wonders! If you have not tried the Secret, I suggest you do! Believe in yourself and believe that you can change.
