It was a weekend night when my husband and I planned to go to a store to buy this year’s Christmas decorations. The second of December had begun, and we knew we had to put it up that weekend before work got in the way when Monday hit. We went to a store nearest our place, where there were not a lot of people buying, though we knew our budget fit a cheaper kind of store where you have to spend long hours and go head to head with other shoppers. Their stuff is much cheaper.

But anyway, we went there, and I got all the things I intended to buy, from Christmas flowers to ribbons and balls. Also, before going there, I set the intention of buying a 5-foot-tall tree because that is what would fit into the place I planned to put it in. When I got to the trees section, the price tag was a couple of hundred pesos more than what I expected.

It’s funny, but I still went for it. I told myself that I had set my intention already, so I was going to just buy the tree that I had imagined. So I asked for assistance and the sales guy went into the stock room to get one of them for me.

Then he returned from the stock room saying that there was no stock left of that very tree and offered me another type which I did not like.

Then, to my surprise, another sales guy came out and said, Hey, we just found the last kind of tree that you wanted, and because there is just one left, it’s a couple of hundred pesos cheaper. It is discounted.

At the counter, I was teary-eyed to see that it was exactly the same price as I intended it to be. Thank you!
