Chill, everything is possible

Around The World ;)A living-laughing-loving girl.
I found about The Secret when I was buying a birthday gift for Mom. It was autumn. The saleswoman recommended it to me, saying that it is exceptional and uplifting. Since Mom had been in a quite difficult life situation for some time, I thought it would be a good choice for her. We both read the book once.
Well, if I said that The Secret changed our lives immediately, I would be lying. Today I know it is because we didn’t take it seriously at first. We were like: “Yeah, it’s optimistic and well-written, but we know such things don’t exist. It’s imaginary and people think it works because they convince themselves so.” Fortunately, we couldn’t have been more wrong. So, we read the book once, put it on a bookshelf, and completely forgot about it.
About a year later, I was cleaning the house when I spotted the book again. I don’t know why, but I just felt the urge to read it again. So I did that. I read it a few more times that month (I lost count in the meantime), and suddenly, it didn’t sound so foolish and imaginary any more. I remembered a particular time when my friend and I decided we were going to the international science competition next year. We knew that we were going to be chosen for it although there were much stronger competitors. And guess what? It happened! Among all the people who tried, we succeded! Today I know how and why it happened!
Just as most of the people here did (I like all of your stories very much, btw), I started with the “little” things. Coffee, small gifts, someone to hold doors when I had my hands busy, a seat in the public transport, a parking space, arriving at the time, extra money when I needed it etc. At that time, I was in highschool. Sometimes, during the oral exams, I would imagine the next question the teacher would ask me. And guess what? It really worked, most of the time! I remember myself being late for class (about 25 minutes). I imagined coming on time. Well, the teacher was also late. Half an hour!
Two years later, in spring, I was finishing my senior year in highschool and preparing for the university. At the last moment, I changed my faculty choice, and decided to go to the most difficult faculty in my country. That meant I had to prepare for the entrance exam. I had about a week (a little less) to do so. I even joked how I’m going to be in the top 50 although there was more than 1000 people competing and I had absolutely no idea how to achieve it in a week. In the next week, I organized myself and gave my best, but didn’t worry much. Actually, I didn’t worry at all!
On the exam day, I was completely calm and relaxed. My parents drove me to the place where I took the test. Some of my friends and acquaintances were also there, all worried and tense. I made a couple of jokes and tried to make them laugh and relax too. After the exam, I casually went shopping with my parents. I bought a bag, imagining myself wearing it to the faculty in the autumn.
Twelve hours later, the results came. Can you believe I was even better than top 50? I can.
Nowadays, I wear that bag to the university. It reminds me that everything, EVERYTHING is possible! I continued to use The Secret (and The Power, which I bought in the meantime too) and I’m getting better with each day. I don’t like my life. I LOVE it! Thank you Rhonda, you cool woman!
And thank you people for reading. May The Power be with you!
