Chase Your Dream.
Submitted by: Rajesh agarwal
Kolkata new aliporeI am a male with a professional degree and happily married living with my professionally qualified wife and my son. My mother is a homemaker.
Life was not too easy for me because my father died of cancer and me and my mother were left with a zero bank balance. I was in Kolkata, India then.
I was, however, at that time, told by someone to read a book called The Secret. He also said if I was determined and chased my dream I can achieve anything.
So I dreamed of becoming Chartered Accountant but I had no money to buy books or to go for a tutor. So I borrowed books from the library and went ahead to give the exam anyway, studying on my own without a tutor.
I failed.
But it only doubled my determination to pass. It gave me hope that many people had achieved their dreams as written in the book, The Secret. But people also discouraged me by saying that people don’t become a CA in India with books and costly tutors so why I am wasting my time. I should not dream of something impossible. But I thought of doing some impossible things in my life for the sake of proving that whatever is written in The Secret was either false or true. At least then I could tell people to not waste their time reading nonsense books.
It is now 14 years since I became a Chartered Accountant. A miracle happened. It happened to me. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
I don’t have words to thank the writer of this book whose mere words printed in the book imbibed such a determination in me that made me a member of world’s second largest accounting body. Following me, there are 4 new CA in my family who were inspired by my words about The Secret book. So for me the content of this book is a blessing from God.
