I was introduced to The Secret by a classmate of mine 20 years my junior. A beautiful young aspiring model who was also interested in Chinese Medicine as a career. She is of Greek decent and loved to date European men.

In our class our teacher had us make a vision board and present it to the class. Her board was full of cut outs from a glamor magazine… models with men all around, yachts, a Porsche. She cut out blurbs and wrote sayings all around. I was thinking, ah to be young again, when I looked at her board.

That summer she went to Paris, dated a French boy and an Italian boy. After graduation she moved to Fort Lauderdale and had three French boys as friends. She went on a yacht. Met a man who drove a red Porsche and worked as a bartender in a Greek restaurant.

On January 6 her friend who drove the Porsche drove her home from work at 3am and along the way lost control of the car and hit a tree, killing them both instantly.

At her wake her father displayed her vision board … he said here are the men, here is the yacht, here is the red Porsche, and now read this… cut from a magazine: “As they stagger out at 3 am she is thinking if I die now I will have lived.”
