Applying The Secret To My 2015 Year.
Submitted by: G.G.
PhilippinesI am a 19 year old college student and a go kart racer from the Philippines.
After going through an awful break up and the death of my grandmother, my life fell apart. I did not have any self-esteem, and I obsessed over negative thoughts. I did nothing to cheer myself up. That was until I discovered The Secret around late 2014. I knew the book was something that could heal me. I read each chapter word by word, hoping I could learn something that could change my pessimistic attitude and mindset. The more I read, the more I found myself feeling happy. Little by little, I was learning to shift my negative thoughts into positive ones, and that small progress truly made an impact in my life.
When 2015 started, I created a vision board. Since I was just beginning at go karting, I had this crazy thought and plan that I could win my first race. I was also entering my Freshman year in my University last year, so I added “Getting on the dean’s list” on my dream board. Despite never being competitive in any sport back then and having the worst grades in high school, I still made it a point to think I was capable and amazing enough to attract my biggest goals for the year. On my dream board, I also dreamt of being featured in a newspaper or television show and making a name for myself in the go kart racing industry in the Philippines.
And crazy enough, it all came true! I won my first race. I was featured in newspapers. I also got featured in a motorsport magazine. I got interviewed by a local television show. I got on the dean’s list in my first term in college. I turned from being a huge nobody into someone who could actually be searched on Google. All in one year. Thoughts really do become things.
My recipe for success last 2015? A strong faith in God plus a strong faith in positive thoughts.
