A few months ago, I had convinced myself that The Secret didn’t work and just continued about my life as I had done before. I had been looking on Ebay, in newspapers and at garage sales around that time for an old roadster bicycle that I could repair and repaint as it was something I had been interested in doing for a while. I kept thinking to myself, I really want to find one, they’re quite rare these days but I know they’re around. How can I find what I want?

A few months passed and I casually checked Ebay every now and then, still thinking it would be nice to find a bicycle close enough to home that I could pick it up, but still nothing turned up until just a few days ago!

I went to my parent’s house for a family get-together and saw that my grandpa (who is now becoming rather senile) was wandering around the back garden. I went outside to join him to make sure he was ok when I suddenly noticed there was an old bike propped up against the garden shed. I asked my Dad about it and he said my brother had seen it lying on the side of the road one day with a sign saying “free” on it so he had ridden it home. My brother overheard us talking, pulled the bike over from the shed and showed it to me. It was a Malvern Star cruiser! Just what I had been looking for! He said I could have it and even offered to help me repair it.

I realised instantly that I had persistently “wanted” that bike and focussed on finding one and it made its way to me all of its own accord.
