Wheat Wood

Regina, SaskatchewanI am an 18 year-old freshman studying political science at the University of Regina. I am an avid fan of golf and curling and I enjoy drama.
I read the Secret after my sister had given it to me for Christmas one year. She told me that it truly worked and explained all the wonderful things that have happened to her because of this book. How she found the perfect man (now husband), how she at the age of 22 has her own house and brand new car, as she hasn’t even finished university yet. I mostly summed up her fortunes as luck because “stuff just happens” and I quickly disregarded the Secret.
The other day I decided to watch the Secret again because I have been having some relationship troubles and started to feel down on myself. After watching the movie, I began to think about the power of attraction and if something like that ever happened to me. I remembered back in grade eleven when I went to National Science Fair in Ottawa Ontario. I remember thinking back on how I enabled myself to get to that position. My project was a brick of “wood” made entirely out of wheat and water. The wheat kernels were held together by flour and water, which makes natural glue. I remembered wanting to go to Ottawa and be able to say that I was clever enough that I could make a project that was worthy to be represented at a national level.
Then one day that entire concept behind my design just came to me. All the pieces of how it would be created were filled in and all the while I just felt that it was going to work, that I could create this thing. When I look back on it, there was nothing that would hint that this idea that it would work and (to my knowledge) that this idea hasn’t really been developed. After I created the piece of wood, I started to realize the benefits to creating something like this. The (very cheap to produce) lumber is just as strong as a piece of MDF and is more environmentally friendly than I standard piece of lumber. It was a great feeling when the judges would ask “What kind of inspiration did you use to create your design?” and all I could say is it just came to me.
Reflecting back on this experience really gave me a heads up and I will continue to practice the law of attraction. Thank you for helping me!
