Hello.
I am Sivosethu Ndubela, also fondly known as Vovo. I am a young Xhosa girl from the Eastern Cape. Apart from growing up with the challenges of poverty, crime, and limited opportunities, I was orphaned when I was 13.
A few years later, I was diagnosed with a rare heart condition. I subsequently underwent two life-threatening open-heart surgeries. My recovery continues to surprise my family and healthcare specialists, and my bravery in fighting for my life is a true inspiration.
By sharing the harsh circumstances of township life and the factors that have shaped my journey, I reveal my remarkable resilience and it becomes clear why I am a ‘Miracle Girl’. I wish my story could reach many people. Thank you. Thank you so very much!
