I am a huge Billy Joel fan, and when he announced that he would be doing a farewell concert at Shea Stadium, which is being demolished later this year, I knew I would want to be there. Of course I tried to get tickets on line when they went on sale, and I was not successful as they were sold out in less than an hour. I especially wanted to be there as it is on my anniversary and knew my wife would love it as a present.

I then added a picture of Billy Joel to my vision board, as well as writing in my gratitude journal that I had already had the tickets and loved the show… just to put this energy into the universe. I then read a story on the Secret website of a woman who won Bon Jovi tickets on a radio contest, and I just felt more certain than ever that I was going to the show.

A day or two later a woman I work with mentioned that she got tickets to the Billy Joel show on the day of my anniversary. I told her how I tried and failed but was still hoping. Yesterday as I got out of bed I told myself that today was going to be a great day and how grateful I was for being able to live it. When I get to work this same woman approached me and asked if I feel today is a good day. I replied in the affirmative and she handed me an envelope. When I opened it there were two tickets to the concert on my anniversary. She then explained that she couldn’t decide which of her friends to bring along without alienating the ones who were not picked. She thought it over and felt I should have two of her tickets, and she will just go with her family. I was absolutely bowled over and thrilled.

I knew in my heart that my putting out the energy and believing the tickets were mine would pay off, and it certainly did.
