We just celebrated our 2nd year wedding anniversary on Monday. My husband Glenn said to me, “These past 3 months have been utopic.” (he was referring to me attending AA meetings). We were getting ready for the next Shriner Parade – my husband rides a three wheel trike, and is a member of the “Ruff Riders”. I received a phone call around noon on Thursday Aug 16, which sent me to the airport to get more information. As I waited at the airport, I received another call. “Liz, I have some terrible terrible news.” “Go ahead, I said.” “It has been confirmed by Transport Canada, that there was a mid air collision, and Glenn was pronounced dead at the scene. I am so sorry.”

I will never forget that day.

It was suggested to me in January to watch The Secret. I did, and I bought the CDs for my car, and the speaker CDs. What I have learned, is I was cradled throughout this difficult period in my life. I came back into the fellowship 3 months before the tragedy, and I was surrounded with family & friends.

It takes time to heal, and I was ready to listen to The Secret at exactly the time I received it.

I did not have to advertise selling our home. Cindy, my friend that suggested I watch The Secret, along with her fiance, put an offer on this property. I countered and they accepted – it will close 2 months after probate – whenever that happens – no pressure.

I just received my 9 month sobriaty chip last Thursday, and spoke at Gratitude Day in Winnipeg last Saturday.

Start Where You Stand, and stick with the living, that’s what I said. I have so many things to be grateful for.

Here is a funny – I was playing Scrabble with my daughter and Rod. I told them to be prepared because I was going to win. Well, I put the word ‘grievers’ down hitching up with an e, and utilized 2 triple word scores, and a bonus 50 points for using all of my tiles – beyond your wildest dreams!! I guess so!!
