The Not So Hopeless Aspie Boy
Submitted by: Sean D.
Fairbanks, AKI was a boy diagnosed with ADHD in 1995 and with aspergers in 2009. Many of my elementary school teachers thought I would never amount to anything, and for a long time, I agreed with them. Now I'm happy, healthy, financially knowledgeable, and getting ready to go out on my own!
I was an outcast for many years. I was scrawny, no friends, the teachers yell at me all day and my classmates would laugh at me, and torture me on the playground until I lashed out and got sent to the principal’s office.
My parents couldn’t do anything because I didn’t know how to tell them what was going on, and I was constantly overstimulated by all the sights and sounds around me. So I figured this was the way life was.
When I first discovered the Secret, I was in high school. In fact , I was a freshman. However, I did not know half of the things they were saying to me, but I kept at it. The best I could do was attract a root beer soda, but I swore that no matter what, I would master my life.
However, It wasn’t until I went back and did extensive research for two years, starting during August of ’08 on just what they were saying, did I truly understand it.
In ’09 I was diagnosed with aspergers, a mild form of autism. As odd as this might sound, it was actually a blessing, because it explained so much about my life. I’ve always been wicked smart, but never known how to use it right. I also went back and forgave people(not directly) for all the wrongs they did to me.
Now I am physically fit, can take stresses that would drive other people off the wall, six months away from my black belt in tae-kwondo (in which I have a great instructor), at a private school, on the road to graduate this December. I’ve learned all the social rules, and I’m sharing my copy of the Secret with anyone willing to listen.
Rhonda Bryne, THANK YOU! from the deepest depths of my soul, THANK YOU!
You saved my life, and I will do my best to help out others that are in situations like mine.
