Attracting a new job
Submitted by: Valentina K.
Yekaterinburg, RussiaA 26 y.o. translator and interpreter living in the Urals. I enjoy my life and try to apply the Secret to my life.
More than a year ago I had a job that didn’t satisfy me, and didn’t let me apply my professional skills. However there was something about it that I liked. For example, since it didn’t require much mental activity it let me have a lot of free time to think about my life and about what I really wanted. In my mind I created an image of the place where I wanted to work: I wanted to always have many people around me, develop my existing skills and get the new ones. And of course I wanted to earn more money.
I had watched The Secret and remembered the ideas stated in this movie. So I always visualized my perfect job. I remember that one day I said to myself, Now I am going to imagine that I have no money problems. And I really created this feeling inside of me. What a joy and relief it was! It wasn’t necessary to think about the lack of money anymore because I felt as if I already had all the money I needed. Then, after some time, when I was at work, my friend called me and said he had seen a notice about a translator/interpreter position available at a construction company in other region. I didn’t have much hope about that, but because I liked this guy, I decided to apply for this job also then I had a reason to call and thank him. When I was invited to the interview I thought about it as some kind of game, an experiment. I didn’t know what criteria they had so I would accept any result. I already felt gratitude for that chance and could not ask for more. Besides I had a friend working in this company and I couldn’t wait to see her. She was not any kind of boss, so she didn’t even tell anybody that she knew me. And that was kind of exciting. On my way there I kept telling myself my “magic phrase” which I still use when I have the smallest doubt about achieving my goals: there is no law of nature that would prevent me from achieving my goal. I felt so inspired throughout my interview. I didn’t even care if they would hire me or if I had made a good impression on the interviewers. I just enjoyed each moment. As the result I was hired.
When I got the job offer I found out that my salary was almost a double of the amount I had said I would be paid. I bless my workplace and co-workers every day.
I thank Rhonda Byrne and everyone involved in the making of the Secret movie for sharing this information with us!
