Proof Before I Knew The Secret
Submitted by: Debbie D
Chicago, ILI recently saw and read The Secret and immediately thought of two past events in my life to prove to me that The Secret truly works.
1. When I was 15 years old, I was a huge fan of the Chicago Bulls (it was their prime championship years). I constantly asked and prayed for tickets to a game. I knew very well that there was a years-long waiting list to get tickets, and my parents could not afford any other way to get them. But still, every birthday or Christmas, when asked what I wanted, I said, “Bulls tickets.”
Then one day, about a week after my 16th birthday, I received an envelope in the mail from a major department store, containing a letter saying that I won their sweepstakes drawing. The prize – a pair of Bulls tickets – also contained in the envelope. I NEVER entered myself in a drawing and no-one I told this story to ever owned up to entering my name either. But they were real, and later that month I went to a Bulls game with my mom!
2. More recently, at work in my very fulfilling yet high-stress, demanding job, where I work out in the open and am constantly distracted by surroundings (in a hospital), I thought to myself how wonderful it would be if I had an office. I had actually been thinking about it for about 6 months, and while I knew of no available office space in a convenient location, I still pictured having an office on the 7th floor of the hospital where all the surgeons in my department have their offices.
Three months ago, my jump drive, which I was using for a work-related project, was stolen from my out-in-the-open computer. I thought to myself (but never told anyone), “See, this would have never happened if I had an office. I am going to get an office.” Not long after, one of my supervising surgeons, and the one overseeing the project, presented me with a key – to an office, on the 7th floor, where the surgeons offices are.
Now that I have actually read the book, and I know The Secret, I am so excited to find out what else can happen!
