If you Are Not Sure, Do Something

Dallas, TXAn unconventional and half-introverted college graduate who has a passion for self-awareness, knowledge, progression, free thought, effective communication, people, truth, and well, passion.
I was never someone who had a specific calling to something. All I knew, even at a young age, was that I would settle only for something that would exhibit meaning and truth.
Meaning and truth.
How do you explain something like that to your fellow 5th-grades ?? 🙂
Fast forward to year 2009. During the Christmas season, as a senior in college, I still hadn’t found anything that struck my heart. This was at a time that, according to society, I was supposed to have a job lined up. However, as scary as I was led to believe it was, I refused to choose just any job or experience. One day during Dec ’09, I felt the need to research career technology in an effort to provide a framework for a job search after I were to graduate. I’m an expert googler and I love to find new ideas through this effort. I bookmarked many sites and took notes on how to present myself to potential employers.
All of a sudden, through a 3-year-old blog post, I found out about something called the One-Week Job Project. This was the story about a college graduate named Sean Aiken who felt the same as I did, and decided to do one job a week for a year: 52 Jobs. Wow, I thought. I’m not alone. I’m okay.
A few weeks pass, and I remembered Sean’s story and start to google about him. I come upon his site, oneweekjob.com , and I find that, by way of The Secret, he has started a program where people can do what he did for 8 weeks through a grant he was willing to give the winner. There was an application process: You had to fill out a form and make a 60-second video. Using The Secret, I envisioned myself advancing and winning, and having the strength to do a video that embodied me perfectly. A day came where I was flooded with feelings to make my video – my first editing experience. It came out so wonderfully that I had inner peace about it. I applied, and became a finalist.
I am currently in first place, and I know The Secret will bring me success in the end. I’ve had this on my vision board for nearly a month. I firmly believe that this Program will lead me on my way to inspire others to live life with meaning, just as it should be lived.
The Secret is real, yo. I hope to visit later so I can post another story.
