Wedding Ring Reminder
Submitted by: Rebecca
Norfolk, VA27-year old woman recently married to the most wonderful man in the world! Learning to use The Secret more every day.
In the fall of 2007, I knew I was going to be engaged to my (now) husband within the next six months, and I really wanted a huge, sparkling diamond to proclaim our love. I had recently read The Secret, and thought this would be a great instance to use the belief principles.
My husband was still in college at the time, so the idea that he would be able to afford the type of ring I wanted without going into debt was not feasible. Still, I chose to believe every day. While driving I would look at my left hand and imagine the diamond ring on it: how it would sparkle in the sunlight and feel to wear, and how people would notice it and ask about my upcoming marriage.
One day I was driving to my grandmother’s house and I was believing for the ring as usual. Almost as soon as I was in the door, my grandmother was very excited. She said, “I have something I have been planning to give to you, and I was going to wait, but I want to do it now.” She went to a safe where she was keeping 4 diamond rings – one for each granddaughter!!! Since I am the oldest I had my pick of the rings! The one I chose was a nearly 2-carat round brilliant diamond! I started crying and could scarcely believe her generosity. I told her how grateful I was and how excited to tell my soon-to-be fiance!
You would think that would be the end of it, but it got even better! On July 4th, 2008, he proposed with a custom-made white gold ring that was the most beautiful ring I had every seen. It had my grandmother’s diamond AND eight other smaller stones! It turns out his family had a watch with diamonds they decided to give him! He added, from his own savings, diamonds on the sides – exactly what I wanted.
The total value of the ring is nearly $18,000, and he paid less then $2,000 – again from his savings – so no debt at all.
Since the ring was so lovely, and we were already paying for the majority of our wedding on our own, we decided against getting a band. But I still wanted one, so I believed for it.
A few months before the wedding, my grandmother again called me and said she wanted to get us something special that was not on our registry and wanted to spend $1,000. The band I was looking at was on sale for $1,200, so I told her we would love to have a wedding band as our gift. We paid for the remainder with cash.
Today I proudly wear my wedding set, not only as a testimony of our love but also a daily reminder that The Secret works!
I have believed for many more things now… including starting a business (already doing), buying a new house (found and purchased), losing a few pounds (7 more to go), paying off all unsecured debts (will be done by May 1st), etc.
Ask, believe and you WILL receive!
