The Loss Of My Purse
Submitted by: Martine S.
Europe, AmsterdamI live with my child and I raise him without the help of his father. I've always been very interested in the "supernatural" as well as scientifically "proven" stuff. I love to communicate with people. Hobby's are: making (singing) and listening to and dancing to Music, reading and writing (in Dutch), drawing portraits with pencil of non-posing models , etc.
I only recently heard of “The Secret”. I have heard about the power of positive thinking before though, visualising the things you want already being there. My aunt told me about a visionboard and about the book The Secret.
Reading the stories here, I remembered something similar happened to me.
One summer day, I was on the beach with a friend of mine and our kids. To prevent my wallet/purse from being stolen, I buried it under the sand, about half a hand deep. I covered it with my towel and the rest of my stuff.
Normally when leaving I double check whether I have all my important things like my keys and money with me but this time my friend was in a hurry, not to miss the bus which would bring us home that evening. She already went up the dune to the bus stop, while I was still packing and watching the children. They didnt want to leave, so I didnt think of my treasure in the sand any more. At last, uphill, I wanted to grab my bus ticket and noticed my purse was still at the beach. I went back and searched for it in a terrible hurry. I couldnt find it in time before the last bus would arrive.
That night I asked the police if theyd already found something, but nothing.
I could still feel the presence of my black purse, as if it wasnt lost. My hope was very strong, I was almost convinced I would have it back. I imagined it was in my pocket where it always is. I let it go and went to sleep.
The next day I went back to the place. The place where we had been sitting was at the line where the sea ends when there is flood. Some people were already there, on the spot I thought it was. I dug through the whole area and even near the two ladies. I asked if I could search there. They even helped me, but didnt believe that it would be right under the beach chair. “It would be too coincidental, they said.
So I looked there when they had left. I was not going to give up! After a long time digging I saw a dog busy doing the same, so I asked the owner if his dog was good in finding things, which wasnt the case.
When I walked back to the place I was, I felt a strange surface right under my left foot, where the sand felt different whilst walking through it. I saw a black corner appearing from the sand, there it was, with everything still in it !!!!!
Of course, if someone doesnt search, he will not find.
But maybe my positive thinking had caused the fact that it hadnt been found by someone else before me.
When I want to attract an object back, I often imagine the thing in my thoughts and that helps me to find it.
I was very happy anyway.
I am going to read the book, for sure.
