Surreal Existence

Manila, PhilippinesI am an advocate of positivity.
The Secret is a process. It takes more than just repetitive wishful thinking to achieve your goals. It takes patience to wait for the right time your desire will be given to you; courage to take chances upon “acting on the intuitive nudge”; and faith in yourself and in the higher being. This is something I learned from my personal experience with the law of attraction.
It was the end of college when I started applying The Secret to my life. It was the perfect time, I thought, since it was a time of new beginnings. I wanted so much to work for this post production company because they were the best. The desire was always there, but the conviction just followed after I truly understood The Secret. Being an art student, I made two vision boards but with pretty much the same contents (one actual with cut outs and another one that’s digital that I use for my desktop). In both of them, the logo of my dream company was in the middle. There were also little things like spending more time with friends and going to the beach that were posted but I wanted to prioritize getting that job.
I took it a step further and followed the people’s advice that I got from this very website (thank you everyone for sharing your stories). Every morning, I would thank God for working in my dream job. I didn’t just say it out loud, I meant it with all my heart. I didn’t just look at my vision board, I imagined as if I was really in their office. And sometimes, even if it seems funny to do, I would even jump up and down like I would when I find out that I had already gotten it. I felt the excitement and the rush happening NOW. But to be honest, there were times when it felt like I was fooling myself because it seemed so out of reach. But that’s the thing with The Secret, you can’t be half and half about it. You either absorb it, or you don’t get results. So I put my trust in God, the Universe, and in myself.
Three weeks later, I found out they had another opening. I had previously applied two months before but I didn’t hear back from them. To my surprise, I heard back from them after two days and got an interview within the week. It’s still surreal to me but I am now working for my dream company. I continue to thank God every morning for it. Not only that, I also had 80 % of the things on my vision board come to life. I know the rest is still to come. Imagination really is a powerful tool. I am amazed how a mind shift can transform your life. You really just have to believe, and the rest will follow.
