I knew it all along…

Before I ever saw The Secret or heard of the Law of Attraction, I always noticed little “coincidences” in my life, but I didn’t understand what they were trying to tell me. For a while I even thought that maybe I had some kind of psychic power or God was trying to communicate with me.
For example, one time I was at a karaoke bar with some friends and I saw a music video playing at the bar. I asked my friends who the music artist was in the video because I thought he was attractive. They told me his name, and nothing happened until later that night when we went to a different bar, I was sipping my drink when one of my friends tapped me on the shoulder and said, “I want you to meet someone.” It was the singer from the music video at the other bar! Turned out he was visiting my city for a concert that weekend. I was speechless.
Years later, my husband’s mother let me borrow The Secret DVD. I was so excited because when I heard about this concept I knew it answered all my questions about the strange events in my life. I had never had a car because I could never save up enough money to buy one, so I decided I would ask for a car. I wasn’t able to picture myself in a brand new car and believe it at the time, so I simply asked for a used car that wasn’t too embarrassing. I did what the guy in the DVD did, pretended to drive an imaginary car on the couch, staring at my hands and picturing them on the steering wheel, feeling the leather seats under me mentally.
About 3 weeks later, I found a used car for a couple thousand bucks, which was a little more than I had. It was a Mercedes that was only a few years old, so I knew it was a great deal. The owner thought something was wrong with it, and was also in a hurry to sell it to put a down payment on the new car he wanted to buy. My husband, who happened to be a mechanic by hobby, knew that all he had to do was replace a fuse. It was a deal of a lifetime. But we still didn’t have all of the funds to make the purchase…we told the seller that we would have to find a way to come up with the money, if the deal would still be available later.
The next day, my father called me and told me to check my bank account. I had told him about the car I wanted, and apparently he asked my brother, who worked at a bank, to transfer money directly into my account. I could not believe it. My husband and I bought the car, he bought a new fuse for it, and now I have a beautiful Mercedes that drives smoothly, for less than $3000.
I decided I would ask for a new job. I had quit my job in customer service a few months earlier, and it was hard for me to find anything decent because I had a misdemeanor on my record from my teenage days. I imagined having a job with a real salary, with my own office, and doing something for needy people. I was hired a few months later at a nonprofit for needy families, was given a brand new office (I even got to pick the paint color for it), and was paid more than any other job I’d ever had. They didn’t even do a background check, even though they had said they would.
I pictured myself getting a raise, and believed it was coming soon, since I had just gotten the car and the job. Well, 2 weeks later, my bosses walked into my office, closed the door (I thought I was in trouble at first), and told me that they were giving me a 30% raise and promotion! My mother-in-law, who had let me borrow the DVD, was just shocked because I told her everything I was trying to attract to myself, and she witnessed all of this.
Unfortunately, I attracted bad things to myself too. I was so afraid of something bad happening to my car that not too long after I bought it, I got into a huge wreck and totaled the car.
After that, things just went downhill because I had a habit of always thinking negatively, a personality trait of mine that all my friends knew about. I got caught up in office politics and had to quit my job because it was so stressful, I became pregnant again and had my daughter prematurely, and basically everything became very difficult for me.
I became depressed from staying at home with 2 small children all day long, with no friends to talk to, and no money to spend. My husband and I started fighting.
Then, last week I decided to check out this website again, and I was reading everyone else’s success stories about using The Secret. I became motivated again, and sat here with my eyes closed while the rest of the family was asleep, just praying that some money would come to me and I would find a way to work from home so that I could have some income and not have to leave my kids. I also imagined us buying our first house.
The next day, my husband called me from work and told me that the mutual fund accounts he had opened for us had earned about a hundred dollars within the last month. I smiled to myself, thinking, “this is going to be a great day. The Secret is working.” Later that day, my mother called me and said she was coming back home after being out of town for the last couple of weeks. She said that she had visited with my aunts and they sent me some money. Today my mother came over and gave me $300 from them. I have also found a job doing transcription work from home that will pay me enough to supplement my husband’s income. Yesterday, my mother-in-law who is a realtor, called and told me she found some houses that were ideal for us and that may be in our price range.
I know that our first house is on its way, and I am so grateful for discovering this amazing universal law.
