A Christmas to remember!
Submitted by: Janet
Kenya27, female, married with one child. Graduate of management and currently very grateful to God and the universe for my changed attitude towards life.
In 2007 our country had just experienced the worst post-election violence ever, and it so happened my whole life seemed to come crumbling down; my hubby and I lost our jobs along with all of our properties we had worked so hard for. We lost the will to go on. Then, my mom got my hubby a job in the same school that she teaches at. It was awkward since we now lived in the same compound (teachers quarters) with my mom.
With a salary of less than $100 we survived by the grace of God. I remember telling my mom one day that Im so tired of life and I wished I was dead. She scoffed me and said I should appreciate being healthy and alive. That made me feel worse. Although a strong Christian, I thought God really hated me.
The Christmas of 2008 I was at the brink of a mental breakdown and was not in the mood for celebration. I wanted to be alone, so I travelled to Nairobi (capital city) to my cousins place. She went to work and I was left alone in the house as I wanted it. One day I saw a DVD labeled The Secret, and I watched it, then again and again and again and again. It really made a lot of sense. Most of all, it drew me closer to God, my family, and my own happiness. Since then, my hubby got a better job with a better salary, we relocated to Nairobi, and every day unveils a new miracle for me and my family.
I smile every day and give thanks to God for my life, my hubby, my health, my child, my new properties, my mom, my sisters… the list is endless.
The Secret transformed my life from hopelessness to GOD’S abundance.
