Only the Beginning

My husband and I watched “The Secret” DVD last night. We were very intrigued. As we watched, I noticed the emphasis on positive thoughts, especially the scene where the woman wakes up and immediately thinks of the positive and it affects her whole day in a good way.
When I got up this morning, I immediately said, “It was going to be a good day with kind people in it.” I then went about my routine. This was my day off, and one of the things I planned to do was see what alterations my husband needed to his new tuxedo that arrived by mail yesterday.
We are going on the trip of a lifetime on the Queen Mary 2 for our anniversary. We had scrimped and saved a long time for this very special trip. Not only are we celebrating our anniversary with this trip, we are celebrating the fact he is still alive. My husband is normally very healthy, rarely even getting a cold, and in January 2009, at only the age of 58, he came down with a catastrophic illness very suddenly, and almost died. He is now almost back to perfect health except that he is left with a temporary medical condition until January 2010.
It was this condition that required some unusual alterations to his tuxedo. To do this, I needed some bias tape. Since I didn’t have any, I went to the nearest fabric store. They cater more to quilters and didn’t have any either. I had already thought of another way to alter his tuxedo if I couldn’t find bias tape, which required two small (about 5 x 7 inch) pieces of fabric. I asked for a white cotton piece and a black satin piece. The lady at the store cut me a 5 x 7 inch cotton piece, then tore off a black satin piece 5 inches by the width of the fabric and said I could have it all. I pulled out my wallet and asked how much I owed her. She said, “Nothing – it wasn’t enough to ring up”. I replied, “I couldn’t do that,” and tried to pay her something, and she said that they were having a 70% off sale, and it wouldn’t have come to much. I thanked her, and said I would be back to actually buy something in the future.
So I got what I thought about by the Law of Attraction – a kind person. She and her store could have made a sale, however small, and instead she chose to be kind to a total stranger who had never been in her store.
And this is only the beginning… I can’t wait to see what comes next!
