African Through Vision

Naples, FLI am forty-one years old female and live in sunny Southwest, Florida with two college students and a husky Sheppard. I was born and raised in Naples, FL. At one time Naples was a quiet small town but now it is one of the fastest growing cities in the "States". I am currently seeking a degree in Human Resource Management. When I am not attending classes, I work full time for as Database Administrator and part-time tutor. It seems as if my schedule is hectic, actually it's not. I still have time to do things that are important to me such as, church, family, friends, reading, traveling and meditating.
A little over two years ago I met Dominic on a dating site and from that day forward I knew I wanted to spend my life with him. During our courtship he introduced me to his cousin Abiee, and his children not formally of course, since they lived in Africa.
At that time I was being introduced to the Secret. I was somewhat ready for a change. My children were getting older and it seemed I was in a place in my life where everyone was changing but me. I started reading the Secret and came across the section on creating a vision board. A light bulb went off!! I purchased art supplies from my local drug store, gathered up old magazines and really started to think how I wanted my life to be.
The board did not happen overnight; it took me several days to get everything I wanted for my life. I knew I wanted to marry once again, to travel, to start school, and other things. As I begin to reach my goals – I begin to realize anything was possible. Only three items I had not obtain in the two years which were: traveling to Africa, marrying and learning to swim.
Two vision boards later I was finally able to travel to Africa. I begin to really focus on my trip. I read magazines articles and researching Zimbabwe, Africa. Abiee and I begin to plan my trip to her country. On July 21, 2009 my plans and my focus paid off. It was such a surreal moment. Stepping off of Delta Airlines in Johannesburg was unbelievable. I did not have time to be nervous I wanted to embrace the moment and catch my connecting flight.
Two hours later I met Abiee Nkomi face-to-face at the Harare Airport in Zimbabwe. We embraced each other as if we were old souls. Abiee is a wonderful woman who I will always love and truly respect. I spend 14 days with her and her sister in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe. She showed me around her country and I felt I was at home. I had the opportunity to meet the mayor of Bulawayo, the prosecutor, one of the chief editors of Herald and other officials. I am honoured to have had the chance to go too Africa. I cannot believe all this happen due to a vision. I visualized myself in Africa and realized I deserve it.
I am honoured that Abiee and her family opened there home to me.
My relationship with Abiee withstood the break-up of my relationship with her cousin Dominic. Yes, I still believe he is an amazing man and being.
I now need to visualize marriage and stand firm on the belief I deserve it. Especially when you love something more than you love yourself.
