EVERYTHING YOU ASK WILL BE YOURS

New York City, NYI am a 40 year old female Secret believer living in the city of New York.
Boy was I in a bad way. My former roommate kicked me out of our home because she didn’t want to pay for work I’d done for her, I had no phone, no job, no income, no credit, no bank account, and no place to go – and all of this in New York City!
But I knew about The Secret, and I put it to work. I wrote in my journal all the things I desired: a beautiful solo apartment in New York with hardwood floors, lots of light, in a safe, friendly neighborhood, with a landlord who didn’t care about credit and would simply let me move in; new, good friends; a telephone; a good job where I could be my creative self while working hard; a boyfriend; and last but not least, a black hairband to tuck my hair in, because sometimes it’s a bit wild.
A friend of a friend took me in after hearing about what the ex-roommate had done. I moved in with her and her daughter. A few months rolled by. I pounded the pavement daily looking for jobs, with zero success. I had no income, but every time I needed cash or food, “something” would happen in the nick of time to help. I kept looking, and one day I answered an ad for a job that sounded very simple. I was daunted, pretty sure my resume would bring yet another response of, “Sorry, you’re overqualified,” but I sent the resume in and put it out of my mind. Weeks later when I had heard nothing, I was sure the job had passed me by.
Living with the friend was safe and cozy, but not my cup of tea as things were noisy and cluttered. I felt sad, forgotten, and lonely. But I bucked myself up and kept looking at my wish list. I knew The Law of Attraction worked; just why was it taking so looonnnng???
One day things changed.
While walking across Central Park, half-starved and en route to a job interview I didn’t get the job to, I overheard two men talking and boldly joined their conversation, making a joke. Both men were friendly Christians with whom I had a lot in common: turns out we had all worked in the film industry and had some mutual colleagues! I stayed in touch with them, and one day one of them recommended I try out the classified section of a website of a certain church he knew of, to find a place to live. I went to the library to use the internet and post an ad. As I read the church’s classifieds, I didn’t see anything that would fit, but I heard an internal voice, soft but firm, say, “Post an ad SEEKING a place.” “Seeking one?” Why would anyone read, much less answer an ad from someone SEEKING a place? There were no other ads like that on the site. I was skeptical but knew better than to doubt this voice. I posted an ad saying what I could afford and what kind of apartment I was hoping for, then left it for the best. A few days later, I acquired a cell phone. I added its number to the ad.
A few days later a wonderful person called answering the ad, explaining an extraordinary situation: a college student, they needed someone to move into their apartment now that they were out of school, and assume the lease. They had paid a year’s lease but moved out in month 11, and wanted someone to watch over their belongings for month 12. I said I could. I met the landlord, asked him about a credit check, and he waved it off saying it wasn’t important, TO GO AHEAD AND MOVE IN.
Two months later I am the proud renter of an absolutely gorgeous apartment, with hardwood floors, lots of light, completely furnished. I live here alone!
The job I sent my resume to called and interviewed and tested me, and I got the job! It’s the exact kind of job I have always hoped for.
I have tons of great new friends! Even more, a young fellow in the neighborhood I was in prior stated he had a crush on me, and we’ve begun to date.
The rent came up for the new apartment, but having just started work I needed $3000 for the month and a deposit, with no hope of where it could come from. An email came from a friend of a friend, checking in on me. He then explained he was sending me a check for $2500. Another friend then gave me $300, so I am only $200 away from having all my rent! (The job has already earned me that much, so if they pay me soon, there it is!)
But what makes me type this today is that while walking through NYC on my way to work, I looked on the ground and what do I see but a black headband. It is in my purse in my cubicle as I write this.
The Law of Attraction is real and The Secret works. I should add that there is work to be done, too, in order for these things to work. You MUST remain positive. Positive energy is the fuel that makes this work. Negative thoughts backtrack you. The more “up” you are, the more faith you have, the stronger it works. But make no mistake, this stuff is REAL.
Thank you, God, for creating the LOA and for showing Rhonda and company THE SECRET to share with us!
