Better Late than Never

NS, CanadaI was introduced to The Secret about two years ago, in 2007. I received the book from my parents on my 22nd birthday and I was very interested in The Secret’s message. I had always (unknowingly) used The Secret, but now that I knew how deep it went, I was intrigued. I started using it for little things, nothing too significant, but it always worked out in the end.
About a month ago, I graduated from university with a Bachelor of Education. I had recently moved to a new city and I was ready to start applying for teaching positions. I’ve always been a procrastinator and I guess I waited a little too long to start applying. I ended up only applying for a teaching position with one school board, although it was the board which I definitely wanted to work for the most. I was a little over confident in thinking that I would get a job with them and I didn’t think to have a Plan B.
I had in interview a week ago (June 23) and it went very well. They said that if I was indeed offered a position, I would get a phone call before Friday at 5pm. If I wasn’t offered a position, I wouldn’t get a call. So I waited by the phone constantly, anticipating the call. I was sure it would come… but it didn’t. During the following days, I was extremely disappointed, frustrated, and depressed. I wasn’t sure how I was going to pay the bills, afford rent, etc., for the following year. I had no Plan B.
Last night (June 29), I decided I had wallowed in my misery long enough. Nothing good was going to happen to me if I kept up my moping. So I picked up The Secret and started reading a few pages. This is what I always do when I need to shed a little light on a situation. After reading just a few passages, my mindset had already changed and I became much more optimistic about my situation.
This morning, June 30th, I got a phone call from the school board. They apologized for making me wait so long but they had a job offer. The papers are coming in the mail in the next few days and I’m singing a contract to become a teacher… and it’s basically my dream job.
THANK YOU UNIVERSE!!!
