The goal that brought me happiness
Submitted by: Bianca W.
AustraliaHi there. I want to tell you a story that brought happiness to my life. 🙂
My name is Bianca, and at the age of 8 an Epileptic fit hit me. They continued on for half a year and then stopped.
At the age of 11 I started having seizures which would make me go dark under the eyes, my eyes would flutter, and I couldn’t understand anyone.
After trying nearly every medication, they would stop for a week and start again, but worse. I was having up to 8-12 seizures a day. I could never do any of the fun stuff in my life, swim, ride a bike, go to a show… and I just had enough.
It was time for radical brain surgery. There was a 25% chance of losing me, a 25% chance of becoming disabled, a 25% chance of nothing working, and a 25% chance of it working. I started to believe in myself, and in my Doctor.
On the 30th of May, 2005, I went to the Melbourne Royal Childrens Hospital. The next day they put cords on and under my brain to find out where my seizures were coming from. They found out that my seizures were coming from the left side of my brain right underneath.
On June 7th 2005, they did a 9-11 hour operation of removing the scarred tissue that was causing my seizures.
June 8th 2005 was my 15th birthday. And ever since then I have lived seizure-free. It was the best birthday gift I have ever been given.
I knew that day would come, for I believed in myself for 6 years. And now I am the happiest girl ever.
I believe that The Secret leads you to happiness… It has for me, and I believe it still does. 🙂
