MarylandI have been in the Nursing Profession for nearly twenty-five years. An entrepreneur and clinical nurse specialist. Joyfully pursuing my dreams and awed watching them come true.
This is my second entry and I will be writing and sending more. As for now, I would like to share with you something to celebrate about.
I was waiting for a project that has something to do with my sense of purpose. This research project had been cooking all along. Although I wanted this to happen soon, I was patient to wait. Deep in me, I knew that waiting has its reasons.
For the meantime, I have been thinking about my current job. I love my job, and it pays well. Although I only work three days a week my salary pays my two mortgages, credit card debts, and others. Also, my employer pays my doctoral studies. I enjoy the people I work with. I can’t complain. However, I felt that I had outgrown it. Meaning, I want to do more other than the usual task-oriented role. And deep within me, I knew that I was destined to do something else.
I knew that the research project was the answer. My question was, can I lessen my days in my regular job when I start with the project? Can I afford to work less? Since this project will demand an average of 4-6 hours a week, maybe I did not have to work less. It would be nice to have extra. It has been awhile since I had a fat savings account and extras.
So what I did was, each day, was ask the Universe for the amount that I want to get paid each week. At first I thought that it was too much to ask for $500 a week for 4-6 hours. But then I knew that anything I ask will be given. Each day for a week I said, “Thanks for the extra weekly income of $500.”
A week after, I got an e-mail for a meeting. The research project starts soon. The grant contract offers me $20,000. I was floored. We estimated an average of 35-40 weeks for the project to be completed. I calculated my weekly salary. Yes: $500-$544 a week for 4-6 hours of work.
I have been a practitioner of the Law of Attraction. Currently I am visualizing myself driving an Audi TT Roadster. Wait for my next entry.
Thanks Everyone. Let us be grateful for everything each moment.
