I Conceived, Believed, and Received £500!
Submitted by: Allison M
EnglandI'm a 44 year-old mother of 1 (12-year-old boy), who has been given the proof that to conceive and believe will undoubtedly lead you to receive. It worked for me and it can work for you too - in more ways than you think! (smile!)
At one time I would’ve said that I’d found the Secret by ‘accident’, or that it was one of those ‘strange coincidences’ that brought it to me or me to it. But now that I know better, that there’s no coincidences in life, but that we ‘attract’ to us everything we have in our lives, both good and bad, I’m sure I attracted The Secret and a sum of money into mine.
Well, about 18 months ago, after having checked out The Secret site, watched the DVD, read the book (given to me this year for a birthday present by a close friend), I’d already begun applying the methods, strategies, and techniques as part of my daily life. I just LOVE how simple but effective – not to mention enjoyable – they are to apply. So, I went on adopting a positive gratitude attitude every day (though I’ll admit, some days proved harder than others if I were mocked and ridiculed for my belief). I persisted, and little by little my life began to improve.
So by early October of last year I’d decided to print out a Bank of the Universe cheque for £500.00, but when I came to print the cheque I realised my printer was out of ink. So undeterred I hand-made one of my own instead, using the one on the site as a guide. I copied out all the details, but replaced the $ sign with a £ sign, as I live in England and the currency here is £’s sterling. The date I wrote on the cheque was 19th October, my eldest sisters birthday. Once I’d made my cheque and filled it in, I put it in the drawer of my bedside cabinet, knowing that although it was in the draw I’d still see it every day. Because although I believed I WOULD receive the money, I have to admit, the mocking and ridicule I’d received for my belief in the Secret, had made me secretive when performing these kinds of tasks, as opposed to the positive thinking and visualisation techniques I’d perform within my own mind. Although I do have a vision board up on my bedroom wall, and over time learned to brush off the jokes about it that came my way.
So I kept on looking at my cheque in the drawer each day and acting ‘as if’ I already had the money, and as the date I’d written on the cheque came and went, I wondered why I hadn’t received it yet. Later I re-read the chapter in the book that related to this, and realised that I must’ve been letting some measure of doubt enter my mind, unwittingly, as I thought I’d been doing just what it said I should. But I reasoned that if I HAD been, then I would’ve ALREADY received the money. So I just tried shifting my thinking so that I was sure it was on the right frequency, as it says in the book, and went on acting ‘as if’ and believing I WOULD receive the money.
Well, by early summer of this year, I received a call from one of my sisters inviting me to a farewell concert in London, given by the Osmonds. We’ve been fans of theirs for over 35 years, and as myself and her twin sister had previously gone to one of their concerts, also in London, many years before, she thought it would be nice if all 3 of us went to this concert too, especially as it was to be their final one in England. She told me she’d already bought the 3 tickets, reminding me to keep the date free. She also told me that our aunt who lives in Australia and who sometimes sends us gifts of money had sent a cheque to be shared amongst us all (there’s 5 of us all together, my 3 sisters, my brother and myself), saying that once the money was shared we’d get £600.00 each, adding that she’d give me my share when we’d meet up for the concert. She then went on to say that the family had been invited to our sister-in-laws 50th birthday party towards the end of June, and that if I were agreeable (as were the others) we’d each give her £100.00 from our own share of the money towards a trip my brother had planned to take her on. He’d planned to take her to New York for a holiday (a belated birthday present), later in the year when they could both get time off work, and the money we’d give would be some extra spending money for her. Well, needless to say she was very grateful, not to mention surprised when she opened her card from us all and found the money inside.
And me (like the others) was more than happy to have given her some money for their trip, not to mention how happy I was that I had indeed received the £500.00 I’d asked for in my homemade Bank of the Universe cheque, that I’d made and written out all those months before. Though I have to admit it hadn’t occurred to me right away that it had been THAT money that I’d received, not until I’d realised that we’d all ended up with £500.00 instead of the original £600.00 we were due to get, and simply because we’d jointly shared some of it with her – smile! And suddenly it was like “Ding!” (with a big grin from ear to ear of confirmation) “I get how it works now!” And I have to tell you it was such a good feeling knowing it’d all fallen into place, and in such a good way too.
