Dear Mysterious Stranger.

Ontario, CanadaI'm a receptionist in love with my husband and life!
Wow, do I ever have a story to tell!
It all begins with my crazy history in the workforce. You see, since I entered the workforce there have been issues. I’ve been laid off or fired at least 10 times in my life. These are the ones that I can remember! There were many times when it felt so unjust, so not right. But, there was simply nothing I could do about it. Or, so I thought! My story is a little on the long side, so please bear with me. It’s worth it, trust me!
So after being laid off twice in just a few months I realized that I needed a change. One night I was watching a historic moment take place on TV with my cat. A family member called me up and we were chatting about the historic event happening right before our eyes on TV. They asked me who I was watching it with. I said: “I’m alone”. Then another family member proceeded to ask me the same thing. Both times I answered the same thing, that I was watching it alone. All alone. I realized then and there how alone I really was, and that I didn’t want to watch history unfold in front of my very eyes alone. I wanted to share these moments and many more with somebody. That night the only company that I had to watch it with was my cat!
That night made me open my eyes and realize that I really didn’t want to spend the rest of my life alone. That I was ready to meet the love of my life, so to speak. So, shortly after that night I went online and created an online dating profile. I went on a few dates, but there was nothing serious going on. Then, about a month later I was reminded by the site that my profile was on page 14 and would I like to put it back on page 1 again. Well, why not? I whipped out my credit card and paid the $2 that was required to put myself back on the first page. Little did I know how good a decision this was. The best $2 that I ever spent in my life!
Shortly before all this a friend of mine had suggested that I check out The Secret.
I looked it up and decided to give it a try. So, I went online and bought the DVD set. I listened to it and a lot of it made sense to me. I just had to apply it into my own life.
I used to go for walks all the time at night. I started to make a habit of when I was out for a walk I would think and believe that the man of my dreams will come to me soon. I did this for quite awhile. It was a wonderful habit!
After I got my profile to go back on page 1, I got a very interesting response. It began with: “Dear Mysterious Stranger”. This caught my attention right away. We exchanged very personal letters for the following week. Then a week later we went out on a date and met in person for the first time. It was magical! When he first caught a glimpse of me he said: “Oh, wow!”. We had a wonderful dinner, and we had our first kiss outside the restaurant afterwards. We went for a walk, and I remember thinking that I felt as though I’d known this man forever! He came over to my place after and he stayed until around 2a.m.
Well, we totally fell in love that Christmas. It was a whirlwind romance, the kind that people get jealous of. We ended up engaged 6 months later, on his birthday! It was also the anniversary of our first date. How romantic it was!
To this day I believe that a lot of this can’t simply be coincidence. I still practice it to this day, and I am truly grateful that it led me to my soul mate. Thank you very much Rhonda and keep up the great work!
A true believer,
Catherine
