I want to begin by thanking everyone that post their stories because I can assure you that I have read almost each story that has been posted here and they have helped a lot with strengthening my faith.
I have just finished reading the latest story and I decided to post mine.
I learnt about The Secret a few months back when my dad got me a copy and because I love reading I started reading it right away. I was so happy at how relaxed and amazed I felt reading each page. I started applying it’s teachings right away and I have received a lot of things and this is the story I want to share with you
I have always wanted to have an iPhone but our currency has a low value so things made from abroad tend to be so expensive when you convert to our shillings. The thought of having my own iPhone was a crazy one since I had no job and since I am a full time student I had to look out for other priorities instead. I had an HTC which blacked out because I am a text freak. After that, my dad asked what phone I wanted and I thought it would be nice if I got an iPhone but it’s ok, I said to get me a Samsung.
This is where The Secret comes in. My dad had given me The Secret book before the phone and when I read it I thought it was the right time to attract the phone I wanted. I wasn’t specific which iPhone. All I wanted was an iPhone. I didn’t tell my dad a thing, I just sent out my wish to the universe.
Before I knew it, my dad told me he had sent me a phone but he didn’t tell me what exact phone. I kept hoping and wishing it was an iPhone.
And guess what?
It was 4s. I was so happy and I said the magic words; Thank you!
My story doesn’t end there. My sweet phone was unfortunately locked, my dad bought it and he was told it was unlocked but they didn’t know he was sending it to Africa. Apparently it was unlocked for the UK sim card. I don’t know what all that was about, but that’s what it was. I felt so sad because it couldn’t read my sim card and I had no way of using it other than taking pictures. Unlocking it was 500,000 shillings, the price of a new smartphone!. So my dad suggested I should send it back so that it’s fixed.
I had a trip to Mombasa and I wanted to keep each memory through pictures and videos. A week away from the trip my phone had not yet been sent. I started panicking and thinking I was going to go for the trip without my phone.
Then I remembered The Secret. I kept calm and constantly told myself I will have my phone before the trip. When I talked to dad there was no hope of having it in time. I was conflicted so I chose to let go and not to think about it.
You won’t believe what happened! Our trip was postponed because the time we wanted to go Al Shabab the bombings in Mombasa were getting serious! So the trip was postponed two weeks ahead. You should have seen my smile on getting the news. I informed my dad right away. I told him this is the work of The Secret, which he has never read despite him buying it for me, but I keep telling him about it. He told me he’s going to send the phone as soon as he can because he was busy and he was out of London.
This is when I thought, wouldn’t it be better to receive iPhone 5 instead of 4s? This I didn’t tell anyone, I just believed.
In brief, my dad sent two phones, one for me and the other for my mum. Of course 4s was mine and 5 for mum. To my surprise my mum told me to choose one that I liked. I thought it was some sort of prank but I took my chance and chose the 5 and it’s the one I am using right now!
I can’t be any happier. I had a great trip and I have all the memories here. I want to thank everyone who has posted. You have inspired me a lot.
And oh, I forgot a small detail.
I received the phone one day before my trip! What a perfect timing.
Thank you to The Secret team. Always stay optimistic and have faith.
