Little Things That Amount To Bigger Things!
Submitted by: K.W
San Jose, CAEarly 20's, married with my two "fur children" and learning to love life to the fullest. It is amazing how much gratitude can change your surroundings and way of thinking. It all goes up from here. Lets all enjoy the ride!
I watched The Secret a few years ago and read it following the movie. I was young and thought, wow, this is amazing, it’s gonna happen so fast.
No. Nothing was happening fast. It was because I wanted all the good things without appreciating them. I wanted all the positive things surrounding me, yet I was only emitting negative ways.
I wasn’t doing this to myself on purpose, I just needed to grow a little bit to truly see that what you put into life you get out of it. If I was being a pessimist about not having all the things I wanted, you got it, things remained the same. If I was thankful for what I had, loving of the things that surround me and being positive in my gratitude, the universe would respond.
I am still learning how this works. For me it’s about being thankful for the little things, that somehow turn into extremely great things without even my knowing it. I am only getting better, and to be honest, I really see my habits of thinking starting to change.
If you are a negative person, who doesn’t see a light at the end of the tunnel, then no, this won’t work.
But it is possible for that person to change their way of thinking. I was that person. “Why is this happening to me?” “What did I do to deserve this?” All of those thoughts consumed my life. The second I let that go and became the person to create MY story, my world changed. Nothing crazy, but parking spots were easy to find, service at restaurants was always great, extra gifts or discounts were appearing. And that’s when I realized. Life is amazing and this gift we have been given is within our control!!!
Anyways, babbling on here, but all I can say, is give yourself the tools to succeed. Listen to The Power on audio tape on your way to work, that’s what I do very often. Get someone to keep you on track or find it within yourself to be your best cheerleader. In all situations be grateful even for the tiniest things.
Here I am years after The Secret came out and I am just now realizing that I have the power to change my life. I am on my way to a huge promotion in the next few months, my husband is in the process of getting his chosen career, I will soon afford my dream car, and day to day life is just such joy. So many little things that make me smile. To first test it, I practiced being thankful for a white butterfly, somewhat rare right? And I see them frequently, and it’s a true reminder of this magic.
Thank you Rhonda and team. For you to take the time to spread the word is amazing! Love and thanks! 🙂
