Car Trouble.

bay view, wiI am an educational assistant for a big city public school system. I assist learning disabled elementary school students with basic reading, writing, and math interventions. I have been married for 37 years and have 2 children.
A few days ago I was backing out of my space in the parking lot at the school where I work when I bumped the car directly behind me.
Immediately, a plethora of scenarios shot through my mind. When I got out of my car to survey the damage, I could see that my car had no noticeable damage. The car that I hit had a slight scratch on the front bumper.
A plethora of scenarios shot through my mind. What a hassle it would be finding this person and getting their bumper fixed. If I didn’t say anything no one would be the wiser as my car was not damaged. Even a small scratch might be expensive to fix.
Inspired by The Secret I decided not to let fear seep into my decision process.
When I returned from lunch I found the owner. “Oh Shelley,” I said, “I have bad news. I scraped your car in the parking lot.”
To my surprise she said, “Oh, I never worry about things like that. It wouldn’t worry me if you had put a dent on the car.” She didn’t even want to come out and see the damage. Now every day when I see her she gives me a big smile and a “Hello, how are you today?” I will take every opportunity to help her if I see a need, because I am so grateful of her attitude.
I took a chance and did not let fear rule my decision making process and since then I have been seeing positive changes everyday. It really works!
