All Things Happen For A Reason

IndiaI am an 18 year old girl. On track to be a medical student in AIIMS by August 2014. The Universe truly loves me and you will understand this by reading my story. ;-)
Today I concluded at a really high note as everything was amazing in the end and I also learned an important lesson from my mistakes. However, it started as a full-scale epic disaster.
I had the physics preboard test today. The entire syllabus of class 12 was due to come in it. I was NOT prepared. If you have read my previous story: “1st Rank!”, you must be thinking WHAT?. Go read that story to understand my situation.
Anyway, I had decided that I would not give the test. However, this plan was doomed from the start, as my parents know about all my tests and always send me to give the test at least half an hour before the reporting time. As soon as I woke up, I lied to my parents that a text had arrived from a friend saying that today’s exam had been indefinitely postponed. My mom immediately called up the driver and told him to go ask the people from the institute regarding the timing of the test. Now, I was stressed as I knew that the driver would tell my mom the truth that the exam would be held today at 10 AM and then my parents will scold me and send me to give the exam.
My dad called up the institute but thankfully they did not pick up. I told my parents that I would go to check the schedule myself. I did go and check the schedule and I also managed to escape from the institute without the staff noticing me and forcing me to take the test. I went back home and told my mom that there was no exam today. She believed me easily, as mostly, I am a good child and I hardly lie.
As I was thanking my lucky stars for my great escape, a teacher from the institute called up my mom and told her that I had missed the test. My mom didn’t believe the teacher as she had seen herself that I had gone to the institute only to be told that there was no exam today. She had believed my lie, remember?
I took the phone from my mom and after a lot of hassle, the teacher told me to quickly come to the institute and give the test. The test had started at 10:30 AM and I reached there at 12 PM. The test was to last till 1:30 PM.
While on my way to the institute I said thank you with every step, as taught in The Magic Steps practice from The Magic.
When I saw the question paper, I was amazed to see that most of the questions in the exam were from those chapters which I knew! Although extra time was allotted to me as I had arrived late, I wrote all the answers with super fast speed and submitted the answer sheet at the same time as the other students!
Everybody was amazed by this! 🙂
I went back home, received both a lecture from my parents to be careful in the future and praise for handling the situation so well. I ate my favorite dishes for lunch and dinner that my mom prepared for me out of the blue. My mom went to the market and bought me new clothes unexpectedly.
Also I managed to get hold of the mobile, which I don’t have right now because my parents had taken it away due to my ongoing exams. So now I could share this story with you all!
So all in all, I had a FABULOUS day.
Everything happens for the good. I have learned from this mistake that I will prepare my syllabus thoroughly in the future and not lie to my parents. Gratitude changes everything to gold.
The Secret worked for me again!
