Never, Never, Never Give Up!

It had gone on for 3 years. I had my dream home in California and was unable to make the payments. I hadn’t made a payment in a long time and it had been scheduled for foreclosure. I had applied for numerous loan modifications, which stops the foreclosure process but the modifications were never approved. There was one excuse after another, but the bottom line was: DENIED.
About the third time I received the foreclosure notice, I was pretty sure they were going to go ahead with this one. I received a letter from a realtor and met with him and we decided to put the house on the market and see if we could get an offer quickly, to avoid the foreclosure.
Sure enough, we got a decent offer. While processing the paperwork, it was determined that there was an outstanding 2nd mortgage that had to be paid. This meant it would be a short sale and the buyer was not interested in waiting for the process. They pulled out.
So we proceeded with the sale while worrying about beating the foreclosure schedule. My sister, who introduced me to The Secret, called one day and we talked about my situation. She explained to me that I needed to see the end result that I was looking for. I realized that I had never done that because the only end I saw was either a foreclosure or a short sale. Neither one was acceptable. It was so unrealistic to think that anything else could happen! So after I hung up, I visualized shaking hands with the realtor saying, “We did it!” If I started to waver I wouldn’t allow myself to think of anything other than the handshake.
Two days later I had multiple offers. Neither was enough to cover the entire debt and we countered. When you have multiple offers, you can reveal this to the potential buyers. This encouraged one of the buyers to offer a substantial amount more and with their offer and my realtor slightly reducing his commission I was able to sell the house without a short sale! Amazing! And only because of the positive thinking introduced to me by The Secret.
