My Miracles Have Begun!
Submitted by: Ken R.
Trinidad, Caribbean.I am 48, divorced, childless. Journalist for weekly paper.
I only started practicing recently, just over a month. I have not yet seen the movie (The Secret), nor read any of the books, but I have been chanting to myself “I am a money magnet, money comes to me easily and frequently”, which I found here in one of the stories. I have been using another similar mantra (as I refer to it) for quite a little while, and did receive help.
But I have a couple of experiences to share.
I was recently fired. Then my landlady evicted me. It was difficult, but I continued with my old and new mantras, trying to be as grateful as I could.
My boss (who had fired me) wanted to have a chat with me. I wasn’t rehired. But I took some courage and went to see her again a couple days later with a proposal (an idea, which came to me).
I was immediately rehired, two weeks after being fired!
And through some circumstances, I got the perfect office, one that I had occupied in the past and had missed. But I still had to deal with my eviction. I tried again to negotiate with my landlady, to no avail.
Strangely, when she denied me, I felt as if a weight had come off my shoulders. On my last day there, I had to remove my things by late afternoon, I went to work and decided to focus on the job, which I did, somewhat amazingly. But I knew the day would come to a close, and I worried about where I was going.
A co-worker had offered to put me up for a night, but that was it.
But he lived nearby and had contacted a place as he knew the owners, with rooms for rent, and had secured a good deal for me. It was cheaper than my last place. And I didn’t have to make a full security deposit, usually another month’s rent, but just half.
I called a friend who knew of my situation but who couldn’t help, to organize to remove my few things from the place. I mentioned the rent deal my co-worker had secured for me and an amazing thing happened.
He told me he had just withdrawn some money to pay his own rent, but that this was not due for quite some days yet, and offered to lend me the money right away so we wouldn’t lose the place.
It blew me away.
We made arrangements, he put me up for the night, and the following day I had a place to live!
It isn’t bad, and it’s ONE MINUTE’S WALK from my workplace!
Be encouraged, my friends. Don’t lose hope for a minute.
Miracles really do happen, and sometimes just when you and I need them!
