Our Little Baby Miracle
Submitted by: Adriana A.
Baytown,TxI am a math specialist at an elementary school. I have been married for 3 and 1/2 years. I just got my principal certification, and my greatest joy of all, I am a brand new mommy!
Two years ago I had the opportunity to have a district level position. It was full of challenges and of course with the job came more responsibility and a whole new level of stress. I managed to finish my graduate courses even though I had a lot on my plate. But I was in a rush to finish since I was expecting our first baby!
I was working long hours, weekends until 2 in the morning, and holidays. Unfortunately, a couple of months into my pregnancy I miscarried. An overwhelming sense of peace came over me after the initial shock and disappointment. We decided not to give up and knew God would send us our baby back when the time was right.
My work load continued and seemed to be consuming every minute of my days. A few months later I got pregnant again and lost another baby. At this point I was experiencing emotions that I couldn’t describe. Three days later, I was back at work and tried my best to be professional and smile since that’s what people expect to see from a district specialist.
My 2nd loss was even worse physically and emotionally. While I was in pain I was working because I needed to and had deadlines to meet. See, up to this point work was my priority. Luckily, one day as my husband and I talked I remembered reading about a lady who cleared her home to make room for the man of her dreams. We reflected on our lives and quickly realized we had no room for the child we so much prayed for. My husband and I realized there was no room in our home to put baby items like a crib, our garage had a pool table, I barely saw my husband so I for sure had no time for a baby. We decided to clean out cluttered closets, attic, storage sheds, cleaned out our guest bedroom. We decided to give it a make over and change the queen bed for a twin. Meanwhile, I made a very tough decision, I requested to be relieved of my duties and return to a campus at the end of the year.
We decided we were going to be ready when our baby came.
June 14 was my last day, a week later I confirmed my 3rd pregnancy.
February 25, our baby girl was born!
