Attitude Of Gratitude!

Washington, DCA grateful young woman
This is amazing that I am sharing my experience with all of you. I was introduced to The Secret in 2008 by a good friend of mine. Though I understood, I practiced on and off and didn’t take it seriously as things were going well with me.
I was in USA for my masters degree and maintained GPA of 3.7. I continued to get a scholarship though others were denied because of the US economy and no grant money. I was grateful for my financial assistance. I got a job offer which was not related to my field. I was encouraged by this and maybe got over confident that I will find a research job.
I introduced my boyfriend to The Secret, too. He got a job in DC and wanted me to go with him. After I graduated, I joined him and started looking for biomedical jobs. I got an interview call from HHMI, which is my dream job and felt positive at the end of the meeting. After a week of anxious wait, I was told that they want somebody who doesn’t need sponsorship.
My parents didn’t want me to marry my boyfriend. I started arguing and my relationship with my parents started getting worse. I didn’t want to marry without my parent’s blessing. I had to leave USA as my visa was getting expired and I didn’t find a job to sponsor me.
My confidence level was at an all time low and I slipped into depression. The only positive thing in my life was the love of my boyfriend. He kept promising things will get better and I will be back in USA soon.
I remembered The Secret and watched the movie. I started with affirmations, visualization and staying positive. When I was leaving the country, we had faith that we will meet soon.
I left USA in Jan, 2011. I continued being positive and brushing aside all the negativity around me for almost 3 months. Surprisingly, my parents told me that they don’t oppose my decision to marry my boyfriend and wanted to see me happy again. In a week, my boyfriend managed to pool in money and applied for my fiance visa. In four months all the paper work was done and I got my visa without a hitch. That was the magical day of my life. I had tears and kept saying “Thank you” throughout the day.
I reunited with my boyfriend and got married in Dec, 2011!!!!
Thank you Rhonda and her team for sharing this invaluable knowledge with the world. I am so happy and thankful that I married my best friend. I am truly blessed to have a husband who loves me and had patience to wait for me.
I am looking for a job again with my green card from the past 6 months. I am not able to find a job yet. My husband has a student loan and he is taking care of all the bills. We are living on a tight budget and need some peace of mind. So, I started reading The Magic and continuing to practice gratitude. My husband has sacrificed so much for me and it is my turn to share his responsibilities now. I have faith that I will find a job soon and be writing again.
Thank you Thank you Thank you!!!
