Manifesting A Job
Submitted by: Meranda C.
Dallas, TX28 year old living life and achieving goals.
I graduated from college and was in a desperate search for employment. I was abiding by the thoughts and ideas in The Secret by imagining I was employed. I had a specific sort of something I was looking for. I wanted to be relatively close to where I was living, I wanted to be full time, I wanted to have weekends off, I wanted to work in an office setting, I wanted to be apart of a creative team. I wanted a position that was full of doing things, involved in the process.
So, I meditated for 5 – 10 minutes a day using imagery to imagine myself being hired and telling everyone I know about my new job and focusing on the feeling of that accomplishment. I would get up in the morning and start my day by applying to jobs for what would be a “work day”. I KNEW I’d get a job.
One of the positions I applied for was completely out of my genre but it fulfilled all of those wants. I had personal experience with the subject so I thought I could give it a shot. I got a call back and that excited me greatly. Interview day came and on my way out I pumped myself up by giving myself an interview. I had all these great answers and at the time it was just to get me in a positive mind set. Unfortunately, in a mass of construction, I was derailed and was going the wrong way. I called someone in tears asking them to just get me home. All of a sudden, it just so happened that I passed my exit. I decided that there was nothing to lose, I might as well at least make an effort.
So, an hour late, I sat in the parking lot and wiped my face from the stream of mascara that had made a pathway down to my chin. Fresh faced and ready to apologize, I made my way inside and proceeded to explain to someone in the first office I saw, of my dilemma. Before I could finish my sentence, I was bawling again. I was tempted to just run out but I thought I came this far, might as well see it through.
The interviews were done for the day but they agreed to see me nonetheless. I went in and blew them away with the knowledge I had gained on my own, especially the examples I had come up with in that faux interview on my ride. My enthusiasm, passion, and determination impressed them and a week later I met with the owner and was hired.
The story doesn’t end there! A few months later, I was struggling financially and really needed more of an income. I started The Magic journey and within three days, I found myself with a raise after having listed it as a top 10 desire. I even wrote on a check stub my desired income level. A couple of months later, I saw quite an increase in my pay and matched it almost to the dollar.
Now, I am working on other issues in my life, but the career has been a major improvement in my life and has made me see the power of gratitude.
