Thank you to Rhonda and The Secret crew for explaining and putting into words The Secret and how it works.
I had used The Secret all throughout my life without even knowing it and described it as determination. When I was 13 I received the horse I had dreamed about. After college I got my dream job, moved to my dream place, lived in my dream house, drove my dream car, won contests, and traveled and experienced my dream adventures. After marrying my dream partner I had two children and shortly after I lost my beloved father to cancer and shortly after that I lost my mother to a brain aneurysm. I got sucked into a 10 year slump of worry, fear, isolation, and depression.
Just this past month I made a decision that this sad depressed person wasn’t me and that I would find my wonderful self from the past. Through a chain of events I came to find your book and it changed my life THAT DAY! Everything made perfect sense and made me see that the power I had used before wasn’t just a fluke, coincidence, or determination, but it was ME! The Secret came rushing back into my life and I am so thankful. THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!
My husband is a firefighter EMT and told me a story yesterday that I will never forget.
His fire truck got a call to help with a car accident on the freeway. It was a young man and woman with their two children. One child was an infant, the other a two year old boy. The car was totaled in the crash, the woman was taken away in an ambulance for minor injuries.
For the man and woman this was a horrible day. But this two year old boy was having the day of his dreams!!! You see when the car crashed he was reading a book about trucks! One of those cardboard books shaped like a truck that even has little wheels on the bottom of the book so it rolls like a truck. While the boy’s mother was leaving in an ambulance and his father was busy with the infant and all the other worries he had, my husband went to sit with this boy and the boy was so excited that all the trucks that were in his book (firetruck, ambulance, police car…) were there in reality!!! He and my husband looked at the truck book and all the REAL trucks together in an excited and happy way. A celebration!! The boy even got to sit in the fire truck and pretend to drive.
I thought this story was such a perfect teaching example of how we interpret situations. For the parents, this day was probably not happy and wonderful. But for this boy it was a wonderful, fantastic, miraculous day!!
