Penang Island, MalaysiaFrom Confused Postgraduate Student to Future Employee with a Job I envisioned!
It all started when I decided to leave my current job in July 2012 as a HR Assistant in a four star hotel that I worked in for 2 years. I resigned and enrolled as a full time Master’s student in a local University in Penang Island itself. I was the only daughter with quite a few commitments and a sick mum.
Just when I started classes in September 2012 I realized that I was actually making a mistake by being a full time student with so many commitments which includes car installment and paying for my mum to be in a nursing home, bills and even my life insurance. I started surviving on my long term savings of my marriage and day by day I started feeling very insecure which resulted in this phase of life.
I learned that by being insecure and unsure about what I really want in life has actually brought me to this state of sheer confusion and dissatisfaction. I sat in long silence and solitude and thought of the things I really wanted and for where I would like to stand presently, and the first thing that came into my mind was the ability to be independent and have financial freedom. I was already nearing 26 and with debts and with no job I realized I was going to reach nowhere, therefore I started envisioning myself with a HR position again and working with people, having my own table with an understanding boss and co-operative team members.
I usually played Lady Gaga’s song, call it ridiculous or irrelevant I started listening to this song “Born This Way” and it actually created a strong sense of enthusiasm and awakened my spirits. I always prayed at night and wished for a job in a more challenging environment and envisioned myself going to the bank and checking my balance to the amount that I wanted and happily withdrawing and settling my installments and saving for my marriage and future travels. I practiced this for almost two months and in the meantime applied for jobs that were related to my interests. I went for 2 interviews in different companies but did not receive any news and after 5 months of losing contact with an old friend, she actually randomly sent me a text message one night informing me that her uncle is currently looking for a HR Assistant urgently. I went for a first interview and loved the work environment as it was very outdoor based and it was actually a new theme park that was officially launched exactly a month after i decided looking for a job. The location of this place was only a 15 minute drive away from my house! I was filled with joy. I visioned the first interview going smoothly and actually filled up the employment form with an expected salary of RM2300 and there were no hesitations from the manager. My last drawn salary was only RM1348. That was almost a 64% increase in my request. After this initial interview I saw myself wearing the turquoise T-shirt of the company carrying my Starbucks tumbler and having conversations with those I had seen in the office. Turquoise also happened to be my favorite color. I used to always paint my nails and accessorize in that color. In exactly 3 weeks, I was called up for a second interview with the Director of the theme park. I attended the interview at 11am on the 11/01/2013 and the night before I browsed through each and every information about this theme park in the official website and envisioned the interview to be smooth and seeing myself talking very confidently. The interview went exactly as I envisioned it!! In exactly 3 hours and 20 minutes I received a call from the HR Manager giving me the good news that I was hired! and with a salary of RM2100 plus RM100 attendance allowance. This was more than I had expected!! I was overjoyed!! And I realized The Secret and The Magic which always specifies on the need to feel and vision your goals could actually bring you one step closer. Prayer is a key catalyst in bringing your wishes and dreams come true. Besides that I also learned that gratitude is very important. It is very important to be thankful for even the simplest things in life. I was always thankful that no doubts I didn’t have a stable income for almost 5 months, I was still able to survive moderately with my mum’s pension as she was a government staff. I never one day woke up telling myself that I was broke and eventually The Universe and The Law of Attraction brought me closer to the things I envisioned.
Thank You The Secret Team! & THANK YOU THE UNIVERSE!
